Here we go! ...maybe

So, you've found it.  It all starts here.  Here we go.  No more procrastinating.  And stuff...

Anyway, this is the current/future home of my video project entitled, "The Rent People".  It's basically my story, but stars my upstairs neighbors.  It is an ambitious mix of stop-motion animation, live action, and traditional animation.  Now, please don't take that to mean the art quality will be anything better than poor - I'm not an artist at all.  The choices I've made are expressly for functionality and what seemed/seems the easiest way to accomplish what I want to accomplish, story-wise, while also being achievable for my extremely limited artistic ability.  But, the stories will be the important part, and the "aesthetic" is the means to that end.  That said, the choices that I've made in terms of presentation have already lent themselves to some funny ideas and scenes that would not be possible in other, more traditional types of animation or live action.

Basically, my terrible art will be part of the joke.

All that being said, this is already way more fun and way harder than I expected (and I expected it to be a beast).  I've created some of the modeling already for the mouth animation, and even created my character.  This weekend will be getting all the models done, and my first animation test.  You know, to see if I can actually pull any of this shit off.  Oh, and I've already made the theme song.  I sing.  I'm pretty good.

I'm kinda excited about this.  It's been in the works (the scripts and storyboards) for months now, and the idea has been bouncing around longer than that.  I hope you guys like it.  I hope I like it. I think we will.

I expect the first episode to be done in about a month, but it could be way sooner or a bit longer.  I've never done anything like this before, I've done no research, but I think I've at least got a good idea of what I want to do, and like I said in several different ways in this post - in a way that I can achieve.

Ok, time to get back to work.
